College kids are back at school, which can only mean one thing: a major increase in alcohol consumption. New York State is fully aware of this and is taking a stand against underage drinking. Not only will law enforcement agencies and other state organizations be cracking down on minors who drink underage, they will also be targeting restaurants, bars, and stores that sell alcohol to minors. State law enforcement will be on the lookout for fake forms of identification used by those who are under 21 to try and purchase alcohol.

This is not the first time the state has done this. This announcement is one that comes to fruition from New York State at just about every holiday weekend and at the beginning and end of each semester because they know the patterns of college students trying to let loose and celebrate either seeing their friends, the end of finals, or maybe just your average Tuesday.

With Labor Day Weekend here, drivers can be sure that law enforcement will be out looking for those who drive under the influence of alcohol. New York State just implemented Uber and Lyft, so be sure to utilize these options if you plan to drink this weekend.  However, in the event that you do find yourself in legal trouble, it is essential that you contact an experienced criminal defense attorney who can work hard to protect your future.
